Well, here you are ready to get started with TimeCracker. You need to install TimeCracker using Setup wizard. After installation, you can choose Launch TimeCracker or can manually start the TimeCracker from Programs menu. If you have successfully installed TimeCracker, you will see the following main screen of the TimeCracker.
The main screen displays three time timings.
Total Time : Total amount of time TimeCracker has been monitoring. Mathematically speaking it is addition of total working time and total idle time. The total time is calculated from starting time of TimeCracker and not Windows startup.
Total Working Time : The total working is the amount of time the system has been used . It considers the system is in use until the idle time crosses the minimum idle time specified in the logging options. For more information see Logging options.
Total Idle Time : When a system is continuously unused for the time greater than the time specified in logging options, TimeCracker considers that the system is in the idle state.
Idle Log : Brings up the Idle log window. The idle log window displays the starting and ending time when the computer system was in the idle state along with the time difference (Idle time duration).
Working log window : It is quite similar to Idle log window, the difference is it shows the working state of the system (Working time duration).
Tip : You can provide a comment for the each entry in idle log after providing a single tab after the difference time. The comments provided will be automatically generated in the reports.
Example:
10:15:30
AM 12:30:21 PM 02:15:49 I was in the Project
Review Meeting
Application Log window : The application window shows the list of the monitored windows. When an entry is double clicked in the application log window, the TimeCracker shows detailed usage of the window with their respective start and end time.
The delete button deletes all the selected entries from the list. The clear will remove all the application log from the list.

Merge : Merges selected entries into single name.

Export : Exports the log either to Ms Excel or HTML format. For more information see Reporting with Ms Excel and HTML.
Save Log : It saves the log into the format compliant with TimeCracker. It does not prompt for the filename instead it saves either in the date when the TimeCracker started or the date when the TimeCracker exits as specified in Logging options.
Read Log : The read log helps in reading log files through TimeCracker. It prompts for the filename which needs to be loaded. This option appends to the existing log window which may result into duplication of entries, if you try read the same log file twice. By default options, the existing the days' log is automatically read in the startup.
